We are excited to be co-hosting an incredible event with Hilma’s network on 10th February 2023, in Sydney, debating the representation of women in politics.
A strong appeal of the 'Teal' candidates during the Federal election was their desire to see equitable representation of women in positions of leadership. The vast majority of their candidates were prominent community women. A question the major parties (particularly those right of centre) must grapple with is how to overcome the under-representation of women in Parliament, as this seems to be one of the biggest roadblocks to future electoral success.
As a think tank that embraces the classically liberal intellectual tradition, we believe it is critically important that parliaments and political parties are representative of the communities they serve. We are fortunate to be partnering with Hilma’s Network—an independent organisation with the goal of boosting women’s involvement in politics—to help drive this much needed change.
Our speakers include;
